The government of Sri Lanka wanted a deeper insight into their voter population, in preparation for the upcoming presidential elections, through surveys and data collection.
A survey is a popular method of collecting important data on voter preferences and sentiment. However, the challenge was, getting a nuanced understanding of the survey audience through a simple question and answer survey.
A Survey Chatbot deployed on Messenger. This custom setup on Messenger, not only facilitated the survey for the user, but also collected and stored all user responses. Besides the responses of the survey taker, we were also able to determine key user details like age, gender, interests etc. from their Facebook profiles. This whole process resulted in a rich database of potential voters that could be used to analyse for user profiling and campaign enrichment.
Using Facebook as a platform to understand an audience in a new country, we are able to deploy an entire data collection campaign in less than 24 hours. Combining targeted Facebook Ads and deploying an interactive, content rich, ChatBot, we are able to understand how people feel about certain topics very quickly.
The survey takers’ Facebook profiles, helped us to procure further information on their age, gender and interests. This data was then run through our analytics tool to give us database that could be used to generate organised datasets of potential voters according to the different datapoint collected from Facebook. These datasets can then be used for targeted outreach to potential voters.
The newly acquired database of users with as many as 50,000 data points, powered by our outreach tool results in a highly personalised and targeted outreach to potential voters according their user profiles.
